EVOLUTION OF RIMS

 

Administrative sanction was given vide G.O. Ms.No.286 dated 28/08/2007 to construct RIMS Srikakulam with a cost of 119 crores in the premises of old district hospital Srikakulam in an area of 35.97 acres.

The foundation stone was laid on 02/01/2008 by Late Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy,the then honorable C.M. of A.P.

Medical college building was constructed comprising of ground+3 floors and was inaugurated by Late Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy,the then honorable C.M. of A.P. on 26/10/2008.

The total area of the college is 17,511 Sq.Mts. with a plinth area of 76,137 Sq.Mts. including hostels, staff quarters and and other amenities.The hospital building area planned is 36,017 Sq.Mts. sufficient for 500 beds.It comprises of 13 blocks out of which 7 blocks were constructed and put to use as on date.

Medical Council of India(MCI) has inspected the college on 6th June 2008 and permitted 100 admissions.Second inspection was done 2nd and 3rd June 2009.Third inspection was done on 16th,17th March 2010.Fourth one held on 7th and 8th feb. 2011 and fifth one being 22nd and 23rdfeb. 2012.and final inspection was held on 22nd and 23rd feb. 2013.

                                           THE ADMINISTRATORS

The first Director of RIMS Srikakulam was Dr.D.V.S.S.Ramamurthy M.S.,Mch(urology) & 
2nd and the present incumbent director is Dr.T.Jayaraju,MSDO.
